FRIENDSHIP Unit in Reading

Boys and Girls,

We have been reading stories about friendship. The stories in our reading book have taught us lessons about friendship plus we have read CHARLOTTE'S WEB and BECAUSE OF WINN DIXIE. Write a good sentence telling something you have learned about friendship.

Example:
In AMOS AND BORIS I learned that you don't have to live close to someone to be their friend. If someone moves away, you can still be their friend.

Fun with VERB PHRASES

Boys and Girls,

We have learned about verbs and verb phrases. Verb phrases have at least two verbs. One is a helping verb and the other is a main verb. See if you can write at least one good sentence using a verb phrase. Here is an example for you:

Our third grade class is learning a lot!

The verb phrase in that sentence is IS LEARNING.
